Tension As Police Mount Surveillance At APC Secretariat

There is tension in Nigeria’s ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) as armed policemen on Monday mounted surveillance at her National Secretariat in Abuja.

According to the Secretary of the Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), Senator John Akpanudoedehe, the presence of the Policemen was a proactive measure for protection based on a security report which the caretaker committee was privy to.

The Kaduna State Government has disclosed that all primary and secondary schools in the State will remain closed until the security situation improves.

The Commissioner for Education, Dr Shehu Muhammad, made this revelation on Monday in Kaduna at a joint press conference with the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr. Samuel Aruwan.

According to Muhammad, the press conference was organized to refute the fake news going round that schools were directed to reopen for the third term on Aug. 9.
