Chelsea Agrees On Terms With Kounde

Champions League holders, Chelsea has agreed on personal terms with Sevilla defender, Jules Kounde.

Africa Daily News, New York reports that Chelsea is now set to be in advanced talks with Sevilla over a transfer fee for Kounde, with Kurt Zouma said to be part of a player-plus-cash deal.

It was further gathered that the Champions League winners are also willing to offload Tiemoue Bakayoko, Matt Miazga, Davide Zappacosta and Kenedy in an attempt to reduce the transfer fee for the 22-year-old.

Unknown Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted no fewer than seven officers of the Nigerian Navy in Edo State, Africa Daily News, New York has gathered.

The Presidency yesterday issued an oath of secrecy to staff, warning them against divulging state secrets to the public.

State House Permanent Secretary, Tijjani Umar who issued the warning noted that alerting staff of the penalties that accrue to a breach of classified documents without authorization, has become fundamental, particularly to retired staff.

Administering an oath of secrecy to 42 staff at the State House, he disclosed that there has been no record of any breach of information yet, neither is there anticipation of any, but the exercise will continue to put civil servants in check.

World Bank To Fund Extra COVID-19 Jabs For Poorer Nations

A new World Bank financing mechanism has been put in place to allow developing countries to purchase Covid-19 vaccines collectively through the Covax facility, the scheme managers have revealed.

Covax was set up to ensure 92 developing territories could access coronavirus vaccines to fight the pandemic, with the cost covered by donors.

The new mechanism will allow those countries to buy additional doses on top of the subsidised ones they will already receive via Covax.
