Insecurity: Nigerian Army Seeks God’s Intervention

The Nigerian army has revealed that they have begun seeking ‘God’s intervention’ for the frontline troops and entire armed forces to win the fight against insecurity.
The Nigerian Army Director of Islamic Affairs, Brig.-Gen. Shehu Mustapha, made this disclosure  in Abuja yesterday when he led a 40-day prayer in honour of the Late Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru and other officers who died in the ill-fated Beechcraft King Air 350 crash in Kaduna on May 21.

The Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) has raised an alarm over a possible massacre of the Ogoni people by the oil industry if nothing is done about their plight.

Speaking at the MOSOP Secretariat in Bori, headquarters of Khana local government area yesterday, President of MOSOP, Fegalo Nsuke appealed to the Nigerian Government to halt the possible massacre of Ogonis by ravaging private interests whom without conscience will want to forcefully resume oil production in Ogoni against the will of the people.

Bandits Rain Bullets On Ganduje’s Convoy, Shoot 3 Policemen

Suspected Bandits in Zamfara State yesterday opened heavy fire on the convoy of Kano State Governor, Abdullah Ganduje and injured three policemen in the convoy.

Africa Daily News, New York gathered that the incident reportedly occurred while the convoy of the governor was coming from Zamfara State where Ganduje and other governors visited Guzau to receive Governor Bello Matawalle into the APC fold.

The convoy ran into a roadblock mounted by the bandits on the Zamfara, Katsina, and Kano Road, around Shema, and on seeing the convoy, the bandits opened fire on it.

A coalition of Igbo-British lawyers has lambasted everyone involved in the arrest of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, in a foreign land and his forceful repatriation to Nigeria.

The coalition while fingering Kenya in the plot promised to take action against the East African country.

In a statement by Attorney E.R Okoroafor in Glasgow, Scotland, which was sighted by Africa Daily News, New York, the group said Kanu’s arrest was ‘illegal and archaic.’

It accused the Kenyan government of playing a major role in the illegal detention of the leader of the
