I Fled Nigeria To Avoid Being Killed – Igboho To Benin Court

Self-acclaimed freedom fighter Sunday Adeyemo also known as Igboho who is standing trial in the Benin Republic has told the court that he fled Nigeria to avoid being killed.

The Yoruba Nation agitator, who was arrested on July 19 with his wife while attempting to travel to Germany, has been charged with illegal entry into the Benin Republic.

He is also explaining his mission in Cotonou, the Benin Republic capital.

Insecurity: Gunmen Kidnap Seven Naval Officers In Edo

Unknown Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted no fewer than seven officers of the Nigerian Navy in Edo State, Africa Daily News, New York has gathered.

According to eyewitnesses, officers were ambushed and kidnapped along Sapele-Warri road while travelling to Delta from Kaduna State.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Kotongs Bello who confirmed the incident to reporters said the command has rescued five of the officers.

Presidency Issues Oath Of Secrecy To Staff, Issue Warnings

The Presidency yesterday issued an oath of secrecy to staff, warning them against divulging state secrets to the public.

State House Permanent Secretary, Tijjani Umar who issued the warning noted that alerting staff of the penalties that accrue to a breach of classified documents without authorization, has become fundamental, particularly to retired staff.

Administering an oath of secrecy to 42 staff at the State House, he disclosed that there has been no record of any breach of information yet, neither is there anticipation of any, but the exercise will continue to put civil servants in check.

The Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina has jumped in defence of his Principal over his frequent medical tour to the United Kingdom.
