Igboho: We’re Still Studying Situation — Afenifere

The pan Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, on Tuesday, stated that although it was surprised over the reported arrest of Yoruba freedom fighter, Chief Sunday Adeyemo also known as Sunday Igboho, it was, however, still studying the situation of events before making a formal statement.

Africa Daily News, New York had earlier reported that Igboho was reportedly arrested in the Benin Republic while allegedly trying to flee to Germany.

The lawyer to popular Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho has revealed that his client was nabbed by the International Criminal Police Organisation in Cotonou, Benin Republic.

Igboho’s lawyer who’s name is Yomi Alliyu (SAN), stated this in a statement on Tuesday just a few hours after the Yoruba nation freedom fighter was arrested in an airport in Cotonou while allegedly making moves to fly to an European country which has been alleged to be Germany.

Sunday Igboho Arrested On His Way To Germany

Self-acclaimed Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has been arrested by Nigerian authorities.

Africa Daily News, New York gathered that Igboho was nabbed in Cotonou, Benin Republic, while reportedly attempting to flee to Germany.

According to sources, security operatives in the West African country nabbed Igboho, who is expected to be brought back to the country any moment from now.

Attempts to reach Peter Afunanya, spokesman of the Department of State Services (DSS) over the report were unsuccessful as he neither responded to calls or text messages.
