Arrest Killers Of Abacha, Abiola – Fani Kayode Tells Buhari

Former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode has called on the President Muhammadu Buhari administration to unmask those that were involved in the death of former Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, and M.K.O Abiola.

The Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) chieftain also said that such individuals, no matter how highly placed, must be arrested to face justice while demanding their arrest and immediate prosecution.

According to Fani-Kayode, as Nigerians are celebrating the immortalisation of M.K.O Abiola, the adjudged winner of the June 12, 1993, presidential election, they should also be demanding arrest and prosecution of his killers.

 Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri has declared there are no grazing routes in the state for the Federal Government to reopen.

Africa Daily News, New York recalls that President Muhammadu Buhari had in an interview with Arise TV last week disclosed that he had directed for grazing routes to be reopened across the country to curb the incessant farmers/herders crisis in the country.

Panic As Gunmen Attack Zaria Again, Abduct Residents

Bandits have again attacked Kofar Gayan and Kofar Kona areas of Zaria and abducted some residents.

The attack was carried out last weekend by some yet-to-be-identified gunmen.

ASP Mohammed Jalige, Police Public Relations Officer, Kaduna State  Command, who confirmed the incident, said he was trying to gather details about the attack.

However, an official of Kaduna State Vigilance Service (KadVS), said the incident occurred between  12.01 and 1.00 am on Saturday.

Putin Denies Plotting To Give Iran Advanced Satellite System

Russian President Vladimir Putin has denied a US media report that insinuated that his country has concluded plans to deliver an advanced satellite system to Iran that will vastly improve its spying capabilities.

A publication by the Washington Post on Thursday alleged that Moscow is preparing to give Iran a Kanopus-V satellite with a high-resolution camera, allowing Islamic republic to monitor the facilities of its adversaries across the Middle East.

However, Putin, who is expected to hear a range of complaints from US President Joe Biden when they meet Wednesday in Geneva, dismissed the report as “garbage.’

Algeria was voted yesterday in a parliamentary election overshadowed by a crackdown on a long-running protest movement that has campaigned for a mass boycott.

Pro-government parties have urged a big turnout for the ‘crucial vote’ which they hope will restore stability after two years of turmoil since the forced resignation of veteran President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.

The protest movement, which had held weekly demonstrations for reform until they were effectively banned last month, has denounced the election, describing it as a ‘sham’ that betrays the hopes of the hundreds of thousands of Algerians whose protests forced Bouteflika from power.

The federal government has confirmed and accepted the report of the cancellation of the 2021 Hajj for international pilgrims.

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), in a statement issued yesterday, disclosed that its officials in Saudi Arabia have confirmed the cancellation which was reported by state television and radio stations in the Kingdom.

According to the reports, it was revealed that Saudi Arabia is now limiting the annual Muslim spiritual rites to only 60,000 pilgrims open to only Saudi citizens and foreigners residing in the country as a precaution to obviate the spread of COVID-19.
