APC Now Largest Party In Africa, Buni Declares

The Chairman of the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and as well the Governor Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, has boasted that the APC is now the largest party in Africa.

Buni made this claim yesterday at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, when the Korean Ambassador to Nigeria, Chi Tun Chon Hu, visited the party’s headquarters.

Nigerian Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka has expressed deep concerns about what may befall Nigeria if the country’s leadership fails to act fast.

‘I Have Been Receiving Death Threats’ – Bawa Opens Up

The Chairman of Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa has disclosed that he has been receiving death threats from high profile Nigerians over his strong stance against corruption in the country.

Bawa, who spoke on Channels TV Sunrise Daily monitored by Africa Daily News, pointed out that he was in New York last week and that a very senior citizen received a phone call from somebody that is not even under investigation.

He said what the caller said to him on phone was that he was going to kill the EFCC chairman.

A 28-year-old woman went on trial in Germany on Monday accused of smothering five of her six children in the bath, in what prosecutors called a particularly ‘malicious’ case.

Somalia’s ministry of foreign affairs called on Kenya to reopen its embassy in Mogadishu.

An Egyptian court has upheld death sentences which was previously issued to 12 Muslim Brotherhood members, including two senior leaders of the outlawed Islamist movement, a judicial official has disclosed.
