Nuclear Deal: Iran’s President-Elect Issues Fresh Warnings

Iran’s president-elect Ebrahim Raisi has welcomed the negotiations with world powers aimed at reviving a 2015 nuclear deal however he has warned that they must guarantee national interests.

The President-elect who granted his first news conference since his victory in Friday’s election promised he would not allow the talks in Vienna to be dragged out.

He also insisted that Iran’s ballistic missile programme was ‘not negotiable’.

Woman Docked For Killing Rapist Husband In France

A French woman was arraigned on Monday for killing the man who raped her for years as her stepfather before becoming her husband and pimp.

The case has now triggered defenders of women against male violence, as well as hundreds of thousands of people signing a petition for her release.

The woman identified as Valerie Bacot, 40, had in a book she published last month called ‘Everybody Knew’ said ‘I was afraid, all the time.’

Africa Daily News, New York understands that the trial, which began in Chalon-sur-Saone in France’s central Burgundy region, is due to run through Friday.

Ex-Super Eagles of Nigeria’s coach Samson Siasia’s life ban from football for bribery has been reduced to five years by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, CAS.

CAS delivered its long-awaited appeal verdict on Monday.

The court also dismissed the fine of CHF 50,000 (fifty thousand Swiss Francs) he was ordered to pay.

‘The imposition of a life ban to be disproportionate for a first offence which was committed passively and which had not had an adverse or immediate effect on football stakeholders,’ the court in the judgement.

A private plane belonging to Libya’s late leader Muammar Gaddafi has arrived in Tripoli the capital city of the North African country after nearly a decade in France.

Cattle Dealers Association of Nigeria (CDAN) Imo chapter has accused the Myetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) as being behind the excesses of killer herdsmen in South East and across the country.

CDAN chairman, Ibrahim Salihi, during a courtesy visit to Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu in Owerri, alleged Miyetti Allah was allying with killer herdsmen instead of condemning them for destroying farmlands with no compensation.

Court Orders Malami To Pay Bayelsa Govt $951m

The Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja, has ordered the Federal Government to pay $951 million to the Bayelsa State Government.

Africa Today News, New York gathered that the amount is the 13 percent derivative sum due as arrears of revenue and payable to the Bayelsa government.

Justice Inyang Ekwo, who delivered the judgment, held that the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), the sole defendant in the case, failed to enter his defense in the suit.
