RUGA Will Solve Security Challenges In Zamfara – DG

The Director-General, Zamfara Rural Grazing Agency (RUGA), has said the state government is intensifying efforts to complete the Fulani settlement in three senatorial zones of the state to end banditry.

Speaking with Africa Daily News, New York in Gusau, the state capital, the Director-General of Rural Grazing Agency (RUGA), Hajiya Amina Ahmad Abubakar said that the peace accord includes building a befitting settlement for the Fulani bandits.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Monday he held a ‘fruitful and sincere’ meeting with his US counterpart Joe Biden on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Brussels.

 

Speaking after holding his first meeting with Biden since his election Erdogan said; ‘We believe there is no problem that cannot be resolved in Turkey-US relations.’

Relations between the two NATO allies nosedived after Turkey’s purchase of a Russian S-400 missile defence system that the US believes can be used to spy on Western defences.

German Mother On Trial For Killing Five Of Her Children

A 28-year-old woman went on trial in Germany on Monday accused of smothering five of her six children in the bath, in what prosecutors called a particularly ‘malicious’ case.

Somalia Normalises Diplomatic Relations With Kenya

Somalia has said it has normalised diplomatic relations with Kenya after it lifted a ban on flights to and from Mogadishu.

Somalia’s ministry of foreign affairs called on Kenya to reopen its embassy in Mogadishu.

The ministry said Somalia would in turn re-open its embassy in Nairobi.

Relations between the two East African neighbours have been tense in recent years due to a maritime border row.

The Chief Executive Officer, IPI Group, Adamu Garba, has debunked claims that his App was deleted by Google Playstore, saying he actually asked Google to take down the social media platform, Crowwe App, from its platform because he needed to update the code.

Bandits Kill 12 In Sokoto, Block Highway In Zamfara

At least twelve persons have been killed by armed bandits in Maikujera in Rabah Local Government Area of Sokoto State after a violent attack in the area. 

In a press statement sighted by Africa Daily News yesterday, the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Sanusi Abubakar, said the incident happened around 4:30 pm on Thursday last week.

The statement noted that twelve people were killed by the notorious armed bandits.
