RUGA Will Solve Security Challenges In Zamfara – DG

The Director-General, Zamfara Rural Grazing Agency (RUGA), has said the state government is intensifying efforts to complete the Fulani settlement in three senatorial zones of the state to end banditry.

Speaking with Africa Daily News, New York in Gusau, the state capital, the Director-General of Rural Grazing Agency (RUGA), Hajiya Amina Ahmad Abubakar said that the peace accord includes building a befitting settlement for the Fulani bandits.

German Mother On Trial For Killing Five Of Her Children

A 28-year-old woman went on trial in Germany on Monday accused of smothering five of her six children in the bath, in what prosecutors called a particularly ‘malicious’ case.

Somalia has said it has normalised diplomatic relations with Kenya after it lifted a ban on flights to and from Mogadishu.

Somalia’s ministry of foreign affairs called on Kenya to reopen its embassy in Mogadishu.

The ministry said Somalia would in turn re-open its embassy in Nairobi.

Relations between the two East African neighbours have been tense in recent years due to a maritime border row.

An Egyptian court has upheld death sentences which was previously issued to 12 Muslim Brotherhood members, including two senior leaders of the outlawed Islamist movement, a judicial official has disclosed.

Bandits Kill 12 In Sokoto, Block Highway In Zamfara

At least twelve persons have been killed by armed bandits in Maikujera in Rabah Local Government Area of Sokoto State after a violent attack in the area. 

In a press statement sighted by Africa Daily News yesterday, the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Sanusi Abubakar, said the incident happened around 4:30 pm on Thursday last week.

The statement noted that twelve people were killed by the notorious armed bandits.
