Unknown Hoodlums Set Akwa Ibom INEC Office Ablaze

Unknown hoodlums have reportedly set ablaze the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Akwa Ibom.

According to the statement released by the electoral umpire on popular social media platform – Twitter, the office at Essien Udim Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom was found burning in the early hours of yesterday, Sunday.

The statement was made by Barr. Mike Igini, the resident electoral commissioner of the state with regards to the incident.

Iran Set To Resume Nuclear Talks In Vienna

Parties involved in the Iran nuclear agreement are to resume Saturday the third round of negotiations in Vienna aimed at bringing the United States back into the accord.

The deal, which curbs Iran’s nuclear programme in exchange for sanctions relief, has been on life support since then US President Donald Trump bolted in 2018.

The remaining partners to the 2015 accord have been engaged in negotiations since early April to try to revive it.

The third round of talks started on Tuesday and, after several days of technical discussions between expert groups and delegations, will resume on Saturday.

The United States yesterday reiterated its call on the WHO To Include Taiwan In Its Assembly’s decision-making body to include Taiwan over China’s objections, pointing to the island’s strong record on fighting Covid-19.

The World Health Assembly will gather in Geneva starting on May 24, it’s latest annual meeting in the midst of the global pandemic that has killed more than three million people.
