I Had No Power To Solely Award Contracts As NPA MD – Hadiza

The suspended managing director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Hadiza Bala Usman, has denied media reports she solely awarded ports contract during her tenure which has now been brought under scrutiny.

In a statement signed by her on Sunday, May 9, 2021, Usman described such reports as ‘irresponsible, mischievous and defamatory’.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has alleged that the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) was planning an attack on soft targets in the state.

A former federal legislator, Shehu Sani has reacted to the abduction of Muslim worshippers by hoodlums suspected to be bandits in Kwata, Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Some 15 people have been reported dead after an outbreak of cholera in Koya village of Minjibir Local Government Area of Kano State.

Forty others have also been confirmed hospitalised as a result of the outbreak whose cause is yet to be ascertained.
