VP’s Wife Dolapo Visits Attahiru’s Widow

The wife of the Vice President, Dolapo Osinbajo, has condoled with Fati, the widow of late Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru.

A source informed the Africa Daily News, New York that Osinbajo, again, visited the deceased’s wife on Sunday.

Dolapo was among the early sympathizers at the Flag Staff House at Niger Barracks, Abuja.

During her first visit on Friday, Dolapo was received by the DEPOWA President and Chief of Defence Staff’s wife, Victoria Irabor.

The Kwara State government has sacked the Provost of the College of Education, Ilorin, Professor Abdulraheem Yusuf.

Yusuf, who has almost 12 months more before the expiration of his tenure was allegedly engaged in running battles with the management and staff of the institution since the assumption of office.

The altercation with the management had bordered on maladministration.

His sack letter, Africa Daily News, New York gathered was delivered on Friday.

Professor Yusuf was replaced by Dr Ahmed Jimoh Ayinla, a staff of the college who is to act as the new provost of the institution.

Attahiru Was Determined To End Boko Haram, Zulum Laments

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum yesterday sent his condolences as the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru and ten other officers were buried in Abuja.

While speaking, the Borno Governor, Professor Zulum noted that the late chief of staff was evidently committed to the fight against Boko Haram and was determined to significantly contribute to ending the insurgency.

‘The commitment of the late chief of army staff to the fight against Boko Haram was very obvious. Within the short time he served, he had been to Borno on multiple occasions, meeting operational commanders and troops at battlefronts.

Attahiru’s Death: Britain Condoles With Nigeria

The United Kingdom through the British High Commissioner, Catriona Laing has sent its condolence to the government and people of Nigeria over the death of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Ibrahim Attahiru.

Africa Daily News, New York had reported that the COAS died in a helicopter crash on Friday alongside 10 others in Kaduna.
