President of Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Ayuba Wabba, has said that under the law, Governor Nasir El-Rufai does not have the power to declare him wanted.

He noted that under the labour law, miscellaneous act and the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, governor El-Rufai does not have the powers to declare him wanted.

US Pullout From Afghanistan At Least 13% Complete – Pentagon

The US withdrawal from Afghanistan is between 13 percent and 20 percent complete, the Pentagon’s Central Command said Tuesday, as it pushes to beat a September deadline for the pullout.

CentCom said that since President Joe Biden ordered the exit in April, it had removed the equivalent of 115 fully loaded C-17 cargo aircraft worth of material from the country while consigning more than 5,000 pieces of equipment to a Pentagon agency for destruction.

Lagos State Government yesterday revealed that the proposed Fourth Mainland Bridge will gulp $2.5 billion under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) agreement.

Over 50 Missing After Boat From Libya Sinks

No fewer than 50 people were missing Tuesday when their boat sank after leaving Libya heading to Europe, Tunisia’s defense ministry has disclosed.

Atleast 33 people were reportedly rescued.

Defence ministry spokesman Mohamed Zikri said the survivors of the shipwreck were picked up after clinging to an oil platform off the southern coast of Tunisia.

‘There are 33 survivors, all apparently from Bangladesh, at least 50 are missing.’ Flavio Di Giacomo, a spokesman for the International Organization for Migration, told reporters.

The boat, crammed with over 90 passengers, left the Libyan port of Zuwara on Sunday.
