President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the European Union (EU) has been of help to Nigeria in diverse ways, including humanitarian and trade relations.

The President spoke Tuesday at State House, Abuja, while receiving in a farewell audience, the Ambassador/ Head of the EU Delegation to Nigeria and ECOWAS, His Excellency Ketil Karlsen.

He appreciated the fact that the EU remains the largest trading partner with Nigeria, while members of the Union equally remain the largest investors.

The Osun State Government has announced that it is shutting down indefinitely the Inisa Town Central Mosque in Odo-Otin Local Government Council Area.

Chad’s new leader, General Mahamat Idriss Deby, yesterday made his first visit to Niger, a fellow West African country fighting jihadist insurgents, since coming to power at the head of a military junta after the shock death of his father last month.

Africa Daily News, New York recalls that the junta took charge on April 20 after President Idriss Deby Itno, Chad’s 30-year leader, died fighting rebels.
