Another Jail Break Averted By Security Operatives In Edo

Operatives of the Nigeria Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), and the Nigeria Army, on Wednesday, foiled what would have been another disaster in Nigeria as they blocked an attempted jailbreak at the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Ubiaja, Edo State.

It was gathered that the attempted jailbreak started as unrest by the inmates who rebuffed moves them to their cells after it was opened out as it is the routine practice in the correctional center.

Israeli scientists have discovered a method to stop the spread of deadly brain cancer cells, according to Tel Aviv University (TAU).

The newly discovered method was explained in a study published in the journal Nature Communications, is based on activating the brain’s immune system.

Over 1.2M Children Yet To Be Immunised In Nigeria – UNICEF

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has revealed that no fewer than 1.2 million children are yet to be immunized in Nigeria against deadly life-threatening diseases. 

The figure accounts for about six percent of 20 million children globally who are yet to be vaccinated.
Mrs. Folashade Adebayo, UNICEF’s Communication Officer, made the disclosure in Yola on Wednesday, at an ongoing ‘Media Dialogue On Routine Immunisation, Post Polio Certification, and COVID-19 Vaccination’.

The meeting was organised by The Child Rights Information Bureau (CRIB) of the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture in collaboration with the UNICEF.
