FG Orders Immediate Resumption Of In-Refreshment On Flights

Nigerian government has directed airlines to resume in-flight refreshment on domestic flight with immediate effect.

The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, gave the directive during the briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 in Abuja on Monday.

In-flight refreshments were suspended owing to the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The decision was taken in consideration of the businesses involved in the provision of in-flight refreshments that had been paused as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Tunisia on Monday celebrated the launch of its first domestically made satellite, with a strong believes that it would inspire young engineers to reach for the stars at home rather than join those emigrating overseas.
Challenge-1, built by a team from telecommunications giant TelNet, blasted off along with 37 other satellites aboard a Russian Soyuz rocket from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on Monday.

That made Tunisia the sixth African country to manufacture its own satellite and see it reach space.

Fight Against Piracy: UK Government Donates Vessel To NDLEA

In partnership with the UK Border Force, the British Deputy High Commission in Lagos, the Ministry of Defence (MoD), and the National Crime Agency (NCA) has donated a Rigid-Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB) to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

The RHIB is aimed at improving NDLEA’s already effective capability to patrol and intercept vessels of interest and detect criminality that operates in and around the waterways surrounding Lagos.

The deployment of the NDLEA patrol RHIB will also be instrumental in deterring criminals and reducing maritime crime such as drug smuggling, piracy, robbery, and kidnapping.

Nigeria’s Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Farouq, has stated that no fewer than 3 million vulnerable Nigerians need to be vaccinated with the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine against COVID-19.

The vulnerable groups include the elderly, Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWDs), Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), and the vulnerable poor.
