Lobby Your Reps To Kill Minimum Wage Bill – Doguwa To NLC

The Majority Leader, House of Representatives, Rep. Alhassan Ado Doguwa has urged the protesting organised labour to rather go home to lobby their representatives at the National Assembly instead if they want to kill the bill which seeks to remove minimum wage from the exclusive list.

Doguwa gave the advice while addressing some of protesters who came to protest at the National Assembly complex on Wednesday.

While commending the workers for their peaceful protest, he said they have channelled their grievances through the right channel.

Bandits Abduct 100 Miners, Kill 10 In Zamfara – Emir

The Emir of Anka, Attahiru Ahmad, has said that more than 100 miners in Anka and Maru Local Government Areas of Zamfara State have been abducted by bandits.

He spoke in Gusau on Tuesday when the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Lucky Irabor visited Governor Bello Matawalle.

The Chairman of Zamfara Council of Chiefs disclosed that bandits also killed 10 persons during an invasion of a mining site.

At least 105 have been left dead after serious explosions hit military camps in Equatorial Guinea wiping out neighbouring residential areas in the process.

Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, China has launched a health certificate programme for Chinese international travellers, which is tagged ‘virus passports’.

The digital certificate, which shows a user’s vaccination status and virus test results, is available for Chinese citizens via a programme on the Chinese social media platform WeChat that was launched on Monday.

Minimum Wage: NLC Set To Embark On Nationwide Protest

Following moves by the National Assembly to remove the national minimum wage from the exclusive to the concurrent legislative list, the Nigerian Labour Congress on Tuesday threatened to embark on a nationwide protest to protest the development.

In a statement on Tuesday, the NLC said the protest will hold in the 36 states’ Houses of Assembly and is expected to commence on Wednesday.
