Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday decried the rising spate proliferation of illegal arms and ammunition in the country, in spite of the closure of the nation’s borders more than a year ago.

Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State has said he would not support popular Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi’s interactions with bandits.

Masari said Gumi’s interaction with bandits was not done ‘rightly.’

The Governor said he expected Gumi to have preached to bandits against abducting and killing people.
