Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Sunday, congratulated the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Tinubu, on his 69th birthday.

Sanwo-Olu, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Gboyega Akosile, described the former governor of Lagos State as a cheerful giver who cares for others.

He said Tinubu left impeccable records in the state after setting the right template for economic growth and political stability when he was the governor.

The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, has organised a prayer session for the release of the eight members of the church who were kidnapped on Friday night.

Recall that bandits on Friday abducted 8 RCCG members while on their way to Kafanchan from Kaduna.

Death Toll Rises To 141 In Niger’s Suspected Jihadist Attack

The death toll in a suspected jihadist attack in Niger last week which appears to be the deadliest ever to hit the country has now risen to 141.

In reports earlier made available, 137 people were said to have been killed in the raids in three villages near Niger’s border with Mali last Sunday, that figure has now changed.

‘We have met the populations who were the victims of these barbarous attacks, where men, women, and children were killed,‘ Interior Minister Alkache Alhada said after visiting one of the villages on Friday.

#EndSARS: Lagos Panel Awards ₦16.25M To Four Petitioners

The Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Restitution for Victims of SARS-related abuses in Lagos State has awarded more compensations to victims of police brutality in the state.

The chairperson of the panel, Doris Okuwobi, on Saturday gave judgment on six petitions.

Four of the petitioners were awarded compensations in different sums, while the two others received nothing.

A total amount of ₦16.25 million was awarded as compensation on Saturday. This makes the total amount of compensation so far ₦43.75 million.
