Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has warned against politicizing the recent armed attack on him by suspected militia herdsmen but rather blame it on the general insecurity bedeviling the country.

Ortom, issued the warning while briefing newsmen at the Government House, Makurdi, after an emergency security council meeting, called on everyone to be part of the fight against insecurity. He said the earlier people treat security issues on its merit, the better.

Over 3M Vulnerable Nigerians Need COVID-19 Vaccine – Minister

Nigeria’s Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Farouq, has stated that no fewer than 3 million vulnerable Nigerians need to be vaccinated with the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine against COVID-19.

The vulnerable groups include the elderly, Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWDs), Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), and the vulnerable poor.

Farouq reiterated that her ministry will be working with the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) to reach these demographics  within the shortest period of time.

Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemi, popularly known as Sunday Igboho has alleged plot by terrorists to attack his mother.

Igboho disclosed that two terrorists’ attempt to allegedly harm his mother in her residence in Oyo State was foiled.

Guy Brice Parfait Kolelas, one of the main contenders in Congo-Brazzaville’s presidential race, on Sunday passed on after becoming seriously ill with Covid-19.

His campaign director told correspondents that Mr. Kolelas ‘died in the medical aircraft which came to get him from Brazzaville on Sunday afternoon’.

A new survey unveiled Monday by British pollsters YouGov has indicated that the trust in AstraZeneca’s coronavirus vaccine in many European countries has heavily crashed following controversy around the jab in recent weeks.
