Petrol Scarcity, Ploy To Hike Price, Marketers Insists

Oil marketers in Nigeria have described the present scarcity Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and other petroluem products as a tactics deployed by the Federal Government and its agencies to hike the price of petrol in the country.

Nigeria’s major oil company, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation had on on Monday insisted that it had enough product to keep the country wet with petrol for about 40 days or even more.

The queues by motorists for petrol grew worse in Abuja and neighbouring states of Nasarawa and Niger on Monday as only a few filling stations dispensed the commodity.

Interesting times are ahead as the 2023 presidency draws nearer, the fate of the National leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu currently hangs in the balance, as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Tuesday stepped up his probe.

Investigations have revealed that in late 2020 the EFCC wrote the Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB, asking the body to avail it with more information on Tinubu’s asset declaration.

Senator Suswam’s Brother Shot Dead By Unkown Gunmen

It was definitely a painful Tuesday for Senator Gabriel Suswam, a former Governor of Benue State as Gunmen killed his elder brother Chief Terkula Suswam.

He was reportedly shot dead at his residence in Anyin, a rural community in Logo Local Government Area of Benue.

The deceased, who was the proprietor of Ashi Waves (radio station) and Ashi Polytechnic, was said to be supervising a new building project close to his residence when the gunmen drove to the spot where he was murdered.

Former Barcelona president, Josep Maria Bartomeu has reportedly been arrested by Spanish police for his involvement in the ‘Barcagate’ smear campaign scandal during his time as their club president.

Bartomeu is one of four people to have been arrested so far, with Barcelona’s CEO Oscar Grau and head of legal services Roman Gomez Ponti two of those. Jaume Masferrer, who acted as an adviser to Bartomeu, is the other.

Social media giant Facebook’s agreement to pay $650 million to settle a privacy dispute has been approved by a US federal judge.

The suit was between Facebook and 1.6 million users in the state of Illinois after the social media company was accused of privacy violations.

‘We are pleased to have reached a settlement so we can move past this matter, which is in the best interest of our community and our shareholders,’ a Facebook spokesperson said in a statement.
