Floods, Longer Dry Spell Imminent In 2021 — NiMet Report

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has given out its season climate prediction for 2021 which shows that there will be flashes of floods in some parts of the country as well as a severe dry spell in most parts of northern Nigeria.

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has given reasons why it has been difficult for its officers to completely stop the smuggling of rice into the country from the borders.

The Federal Government has extended the National Identity Number, NIN, registration deadline by 8 weeks.

This was contained in a statement signed by Mr. Kayode Adegoke, Head, Corporate, Nigeria Identity Management Commission, NIMC.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Monday defended the European Union’s troubled vaccine drive, saying there were ‘good reasons’ the rollout had got off to a slower start than in some other countries.

Speaking after a vaccine ‘summit’ that brought together key players, Merkel renewed a promise to offer every German citizen a vaccine by the end of September.

The Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Chikwe Ihekweazu, has expressed worry that at least 75 health workers have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last one week in various parts of the country.
