Niger Delta Militants Threaten To Attack Abuja And Lagos

A  group of Niger Delta militants that calls themselves Supreme Egbesu Liberation Fighters, has threatened to destroy critical infrastructure in Lagos and Abuja.

In a short video posted on Tuesday by Africa Independent Television (AIT), the group accused the federal government of marginalizing the region and also reneging on its promise to deliver on the amnesty programme.

A masked member of the group while reading from a written statement in the video said, after accepting the amnesty pact, ’till date, there are no schools, no potable water, no light, no hospital and access roads for our people to enjoy’.

Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi has stated that what Nigeria is witnessing, whether banditry or kidnapping, has no name other than terrorism.

A Rwandan opposition figure who has been in exile in South Africa was on Sunday shot dead by unknown gunmen in Cape Town, his party has said, calling the attack an ‘assassination’.

Seif Bamporiki, 49, who was the Rwanda National Congress (RNC) coordinator in South Africa, was killed as he delivered furniture in the crime-ridden township of Nyanga.
