Ondo: 200 Cows Seized, Two Herders Arrested For Crops Damage

Ondo State Security Network known as Amotekun Corps has arrested Two herdsmen for using their cows to destroy crops at Irese, Ifedore Local Government Area of the state.

Also, 200 cows that destroyed the crops were arrested and taken to the headquarters of the Amotekun Corps in Akure.

The two herders – Muhammed Abu and Musa Saliu-  said they came into Ondo from Ilorin,  Kwara State.

It was gathered that a farmer in the community alerted the Amotekun Corps after the herders allegedly attempted to shoot another farmer for asking them to leave his farm.

Customs Impounds 1,930 Bags Of Rice At Warehouses

The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Strike Force on Wednesday disclosed that the CGC has directed the unit to invade warehouses and markets across the South-West for smuggled foreign rice and contraband smuggled into the country.

Speaking against the backdrop of the seizure of 1,930 bags of 50kg smuggled rice evacuated from various warehouses in Lagos and Ogun states, the co-ordinator, CGC’s Strike Force, Zone A, Lagos, Deputy Compt. Ahmadu Bello Shuaibu, said the directive was to boost the local production of rice in the country.
