At least 100 illegal migrants were on Sunday rescued off Libya’s west coast on Sunday as they made failed attempts to reach Europe, while around 20 were missing official sources have revealed.

Human trafficking has continued to thrive in the north African country amid the lawlessness that followed the overthrow of dictator Moamer Kadhafi’s regime in 2011, making Libya an important buffer for migrants seeking greener pastures in Europe.

Myanmar Coup: Bloody Scenes As Police Open Fire On Protesters

Sunday was the deadliest day of anti-coup rallies in Myanmar as police fired on protesters killing no fewer than 18 persons, the is according to a statement from the UN human rights office.

Deaths were reported in several cities including Yangon, Dawei, and Mandalay as police used live rounds and tear gas.

After weeks of largely peaceful protests against the 1 February military takeover, Security forces began the violent crackdown on Saturday which saw the police use heavy force on unarmed protesters.

Petroleum marketers under the auspices of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has warned Nigerians against the habit of panic buying and stocking Premium Motor Spirit, popularly known as petrol anytime they suspect and imminent price increment.

Rescue Pastor Yakuru Before Boko Haram Execution – Christian Leaders

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to order the Nigerian military to rescue Pastor Bulus Yakuru from Boko Haram before he is executed.

Yakuru of Church of the Brethren (EYN) was abducted on 24 December, 2020, when the terrorists attacked Pemi village in Borno State and killed at least six people.

The cleric is being held by the Abubakar Shekau-led faction of Boko Haram. In a video last Wednesday, the sect issued a one-week ultimatum to the government to meet its demands.

Commander 13 Brigade, Brig. Gen. Abdullahi Mohammed has handed over two suspected drug barons to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
