Kenya Detects First Cases Of South Africa COVID-19 Strain

Kenya’s health ministry says two men have tested positive for a coronavirus strain first detected in South Africa, the first such cases detected in the East African country.

Both cases, which were asymptomatic, were detected in Kenya’s coastal county of Kilifi, and involved foreigners who had since returned home, the ministry’s director-general said Wednesday.

“We all know that this variant is 50 percent more transmissible, therefore posing a significant risk, in that more people will be infected and therefore could be able to stretch the healthcare system more,” said Dr Patrick Amoth.

The National President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bello Abdullahi Bodejo has declared that all lands in Nigeria belongs to the Fulani.

Bodejo said that no power can remove Fulani herdsmen from any forest in any state.

Suspected Boko Haram terrorists have killed nine military officers during a rescue operation in a forest along Mararaba-Udege road in Nasarawa state linking Otukpo Oweto in Benue state.

The slain soldiers led to the forest by an officer Felix Kura, an indigene of Benue state, were Iliya Kefas, Bati Yakubu, and other young officers whose names cannot be identified immediately.

The slain officers were reportedly on a mission to dislodge the Boko Haram terrorists from the forest who kidnapped many indigenes of the state and held them captive.

Portugal suffered record daily numbers of coronavirus deaths and new infections Saturday, official figures showed, the day before the country is set to vote in a presidential election.
