Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Aviation Minister, has faulted the call that Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Mathew Kukah should leave the state, following his Christmas message.

The Muslim Solidarity Forum, Sokoto, had advised Kukah to quietly leave Sokoto or stop what it termed “his malicious vituperations against Islam and Muslims”.

The group also called on Bishop Kukah to tender unreserved apology to the Muslim community.

Reacting, Fani-Kayode insisted that Bishop Kukah did not attack Muslims in his Christmas message, hence has nothing to apologise for.

The personal doctor of Pope Francis, Fabrizio Soccorsi, has died from coronavirus complications.

The 78-year-old physician was earlier admitted at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital for a previous health issue on December 26.

He, however, contracted the virus but later passed away due to his health issues, the Vatican’s newspaper L’Osservatore Romano reports.

In August 2015, Pope Francis named him his personal physician after not renewing the term of papal doctor Patrizio Polisca, who was also head of the Vatican’s healthcare services.

The former governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido has lashed out at the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), saying the party has failed Nigerians woefully.

Lamido claims the APC failed because it is a two-man political party, manned by persons with the same dearth of ideologies and built around Bola Tinubu and President Muhammadu Buhari.

Islamic organization, Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC, has asked the Nigerian Government to, without further delay, place a travel ban on outgoing US President Donald Trump.

The group also wants Trump sanctioned along with his key allies for their ignoble roles in the US 2020 presidential elections, particularly the storming of the Capitol.

MURIC made the call in a press statement signed by its director, Professor Ishaq Akintola on Monday.

The group said it strongly condemned the role played by Trump during the last general elections in the world’s leading democracy.
