
U.S. In COVID-19 Relief As Cases, Death Crashes Significantly
The United States reported a 21 percent drop in new cases of COVID-19 last week, as all but one state reported declines in new infections, and the number of coronavirus patients in hospitals also fell.
The country reported 1.2 million new cases in the week ended Jan. 24, down from 1.5 million new cases in the previous week.
It was the biggest decline on both percentage and absolute basis in the past year, according to a Reuters analysis of state and county reports.
