Yuletide: We Are Fully Prepared At All Airports – FAAN

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) on Monday assured Nigerians that the network of airports across the country are fully prepared for the usual surge in passenger traffic during the Yuletide.

Mrs Henrietta Yakubu, General Manager, Corporate Affairs of FAAN, said this in a statement on Monday, in Lagos.

According to Yakubu, FAAN has heightened security in all its airports, especially the major international gateways in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt and Kano.

She noted that necessary infrastructure have been put in place to aid compliance with stipulated protocols on COVID-19.

Mr. Anthony Okungbowa, the Edo state Head of Service (HoS), who was kidnapped on Saturday evening along Oza Road, in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of the state, has regained his freedom.

Okungbowan was released by his abductors on Monday night according to a family source, who pleaded anonymity.

Confusion has continued to trail the latest abduction and release of over 300 students in Katsina, North-East Nigeria. The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Monday ordered the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, and the Nigeria Police Force, to release a Facebook user, Mbarak Bala, who was arrested in Kaduna on February 28, 2020 for alleged blasphemous posts against Islam.
