Bandits Strike Again In Katsina, Kidnap 84 Children

Katsina state is fast becoming a playground for armed hoodlums and bandits as police confirmed the kidnapping of 84 school children on Saturday night.

This was some 72 hours after Kankara schoolboys captured 11 December by bandits were freed.

The 84 children were abducted 2200 GMT by armed men, who ambushed them in Mahuta village, Dandume LGA, as they were returning from a Maulud Nabbiyu event at Unguwan Alkasim village.

The children were all of Hizburrahim Islamiyya school.

NIN And SIM Card: SERAP Threatens Court Action

Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has given the Buhari administration seven days to withdraw the threat to block SIM cards of Nigerians, not linked with National Identity Number (NIN).

The insecurity situation in Nigeria is worsening and crime rate reaching a new height in recent time. Benin City, the Edo State capital, on Saturday evening witnessed the kidnapping of the states Head of Service, Mr Anthony Okungbowa while his driver was killed.

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has reacted to the release of kidnapped students of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina state who were released on Thursday in Zamfara state.

At least three people were killed and seven injured in a suicide attack in northeastern Nigeria on Saturday.

The bomber – a woman – targeted a crowded area in the town of Konduga in Borno State, a local government official told Anadolu Agency.
