Kanu Warned Against Sending Youths To Confront Herdsmen

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has been warned against sending men of the newly-formed Eastern Security Network, ESN, into the battle field with the dreaded Fulani herdsmen without arms.

Biafra Nations League, BNL, gave the warning on Wednesday while commending the IPOB leader for taking the bull by the horns.

In a statement signed by the National Leader of BNL, Princewill Chimezie Richard, the group said that the security outfit floated by the IPOB is a welcome development.

Why I Sacked General Ihejirika As CoAS – Jonathan

Former President Goodluck Jonathan, on Tuesday, suggested that he sacked a former Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Azubuike Ihejirika, because he (Ihejirika) was not doing the right thing.

Jonathan said he was not under any pressure to sack Ihejirika from office, adding that he cannot sack a person who is doing the right thing no matter the pressure.

The former President said this during a book launch in his honour in Abuja on Tuesday, adding that some people thought he sacked the former COAS due to some pressure from the North.

Reps Ask NCC To Extend NIN/SIM Card Deadline To Feb 28th

The House of Representatives has urged the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to jettison the two weeks deadline for linking SIM cards to National Identity Number (NIN) and extend the deadline.

The decision followed a motion of urgent public importance moved by the Minority Leader, Ndudi Elumelu on Wednesday during plenary.

Elumelu in his motion explained that the House agrees with the policy of linking SIM cards to NIN, he explained that the policy is consistent with the position of the House.
