Airlines Give Reason For Increase In Flight Tickets

Some local airlines in Nigerian at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja have given reasons for the upsurge in fares to the current exchange rate.

The airlines, speaking with Newsmen said the current exchange rate is to blame for the increase adding that a dollar that was ₦365 recently had gone up to ₦480/₦500.

Max Air Station Manager, Mr Kehinde Ogunyale, said the impute to aviation industry was mostly based on dollar as parts of the craft could only be obtained from abroad.

APC Reacts To Calls On Buhari To Resign

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reacted to the call on President Muhammadu Buhari by a federal lawmaker to resign or be impeached.

On Sunday, Kingsley Chinda, the member representing Obio/Akpor Constituency of Rivers State said Buhari should go.

In his release titled ‘Nigeria saddled with the circus’, Chinda urged on constituents to force their representatives to commence an impeachment process.

In his rejoinder, APC spokesman, Yekini Nabena, noted that the party has no intention of joining issues with the ‘crass statement’.

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the major challenge Africa faces is the threat of terrorist activities and other crimes.

He said the continent must achieve a new trajectory of peace, security and stability.

United State’s President, Donald Trump, on Sunday confirmed that his personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani and former Mayor of New York, tested positive for coronavirus.

A Federal High Court in Abuja has ruled in support for the prosecution of a suit seeking to compel the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and its Governor, Godwin Emefiele to make public details of some of the bank’s recent dealings.

Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu, in a ruling, granted leave for an application for ‘judicial review vides an order of mandamus, compelling the 1st and 2nd respondents (the CBN Governor and the bank) to furnish all information’ on its expenditure as sought by a group, the Incorporated Trustees of Advocacy for Societal Rights Advancement and Development Initiative (ASRADI).

Former Uruguayan President Tabaré Vázquez who has been suffering from lung cancer since last year is dead, report says.

He died on Saturday in Montevideo at the age of 80 after suffering from lung cancer, his son said in a tweet on Sunday.
