Tambuwal Assures Corpers Of Adequate Security

The Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has assured the 2020 Batch B stream 1 corps members deployed in the state of adequate security during the service year. The Governor disclosed this Monday at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) permanent orientation camp, Wamakko in the Wamakko Local Government Area of the state. Tambuwal, who was represented by Alhaji Garba Shuni, said his government has done its best in ensuring better welfare for the corps members.

Fuel Price Hike Explained By Timipre Sylva After Briefing Buhari

The Petroleum Resources Minister of State, Timipre Sylva, on Monday, explained the recent hike in fuel pump price from between ₦158 and ₦162 per litre to ₦168 and ₦170.

Sylva said that to the ordinary Nigerian, kerosene and diesel are more useful than petrol, which he claimed was mostly used by the elite.

He stated this about the fuel price increase while speaking to State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Monday after his regular briefing of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Budget Defence Meeting Of House Shunned By Kyari, Sylva

The Minister of Petroleum, Timipre Sylva, and the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mr Mele Kyari, on Monday, failed to show up for the budget defence at the House of Representatives Committees on Petroleum (Upstream, Downstream) and Gas Resources.

Members of the committee numbering more than 50 were made to sit for more than an hour waiting for Kyari and Sylva’s arrival, but they never showed up.

The lead Committee Chairman, Hon. Musa Sarkin-Adda, noticing that his colleagues were no longer comfortable with the situation, decided to address everyone.

There were indications on Sunday that the Federal Government might adopt any payment platform developed in universities as an alternative to the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS).
