Search For Maina: FG Reaches Out To Niger Republic, US

The Federal Government has reached out to Niger Republic and the United States of America, in a bid to execute the arrest warrant issued by an Abuja court against a former Chairman of Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT), Abdulrasheed Maina, who is believed to have jumped bail.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) revealed this in the counter-affidavit filed against Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume’s bail application filed before a Federal High Court in Abuja.

‘He Stole Half Of CBN’: Gowon Breaks Silence On UK’s Claims

Former Nigeria head of state, Yakubu Gowon, has denied allegations that he took to the United Kingdom ‘half of the Central Bank of Nigeria.’

A member of the UK Parliament, Tom Tugendhat, made the claims during a debate on the Lekki tollgate shootings of protesters.

Tugendhat remarked that ‘we know that today, even now, in this great city of ours, there are, sadly, some people who have taken from the Nigerian people and hidden their ill-gotten gains here.’

Israel Strikes Iranian Target In Syria Again

Israel has launched an airstrike on an area in the southern outskirt of Damascus Syria army said early Wednesday.

According to the army, the area is where military defectors believe has a strong Iranian military presence and the attack is the second of such attacks within a week.

The aerial strike on a strategic area that Israel had hit in the past came from the occupied Golan Heights and the attacks has caused only material damages, the army statement said. The attack is said to have caused only material damage, the report says.

Adeola Adedipe, a lawyer, has applied to withdraw his services from the former chairman, Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT), Abdulrasheed Maina’s case of money laundering.

Adedipe, who is representing Maina’s company, Common Input Property and Investment Ltd, told Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Wednesday at the resumption of proceedings in the case, that he has filed a notice, signifying his intention to withdraw from further representation of his client.
