CBN Devalues Naira, Fixes Dollar Sale At ₦392

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has devalued the Naira by ₦6 to Dollar.

This brings the Naira closer to the exchange rate unification policy recommended by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank.

In a weekly update for International Money Transfer Service Operators (IMTOs), Bureau De Change (BDC) Operators and Service Providers were instructed to add 6 across all rates.

Iranian Envoy, 3 Others Face Trial In Belgium Over Terrorism

An Iranian diplomat and three other Iranians accused of planning to bomb a meeting of an exiled opposition group in France in 2018 went on trial in Belgium on Friday.

This the first time an EU country has put an Iranian official on trial for terrorism. Assadolah Assadi, a Vienna-based diplomat and the three others were charged with plotting an attack on a rally of the Paris-based National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) by Belgian prosecutors.

The rally was in the U.S. President Donald Trump’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani as Keynote Speaker.

Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, a top nuclear scientist in Iran has been murdered, state media reported.

Fakhrizadeh was shot on Friday as he journeyed in a vehicle near Tehran, the state capital.

He was badly injured, doctors could not save him in the hospital.

The deceased was head of the Islamic Republic’s military nuclear program before it was disbanded in the early 2000s.
