President Buhari Approves ₦10 Billion For Census

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the release of ₦10 billion to the National Population Commission (NPC) for the continuation of the Enumeration Area Demarcation (EAD) in the remaining 546 Local Government Area of the country.

The Acting Chairman of the NPC, Dr. Eyitayo Oyetunji, disclosed this in Abuja while briefing newsmen on the release of the funds and the update on the EAD at the NPC headquarters.

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved a special salary scale for Nigerian teachers while also increasing the years of service from 35 years to 40 years.

Buhari, who was represented by the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu made this known in Abuja during the occasion of the 2020 World Teacher’s Day.

Archaeologists in Egypt said Saturday they had found 59 well-preserved and sealed wooden coffins over recent weeks that were buried more than 2,500 years ago.

Opening one of the ornately decorated sarcophagi before assembled media, the team revealed mummified remains wrapped in burial cloth that bore hieroglyphic inscriptions in bright colours.

The dramatic find was unearthed south of Cairo in the sprawling burial ground of Saqqara, the necropolis of the ancient Egyptian capital of Memphis, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Yiaga Africa on Sunday said it has trained and would deploy a total of 646 observers for the 10 October gubernatorial election in Ondo state.

The Executive Director of the citizen-led movement, Samson Itodo, in a statement, disclosed that the training was held in 47 centres spread across all 18 LGAs in the state.

Beneficiaries of the training included 600 polling unit observers, 27 local government area observers and 18 collation center observers.
