The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Catriona Laing, has reacted to the #EndSARS protests going on all over the country.

In a tweet from her verified handle, she noted that “peaceful protests are powerful”.

Laing also said that the recently passed Police Act by President Muhammadu Buhari, should provide a good foundation for accountable community police force.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has urged protesters against the Federal Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) of the police to tread carefully.

Mr Azeez Adeyemi, the National Public Relations Officer of the NANS association said this in a statement in Abeokuta on Saturday.

Adeyemi who noted that, though, the activities of FSARS needed to be checked, said that the ongoing protest in parts of the country has been hijacked by hoodlums.

Algeria Expels Thousands Of Migrants To Niger: HRW

Algerian security forces have arrested thousands of migrants and asylum seekers, cramming them onto trucks and buses before expelling them across the border in Niger, Human Rights Watch said Friday.

“Algeria is entitled to protect its borders, but not to arbitrarily detain and collectively expel migrants, including children and asylum seekers, without a trace of due process,” HRW said.

Over 3,400 migrants have been expelled in the past month, HRW said in a statement issued in Beirut.

Alpha Beta Consulting LLP  has accused its former Managing Director, Dapo Apara of allegedly diverting ₦6 billion belonging to the company for personal use.

There is massive gridlock on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway as #EndSARS protesters have shutdown the expressway.
