Breaking: SWAT Team Begins Training Monday – IGP Adamu

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu, said his new Special Weapons and Tactical (SWAT) team will begin training on Monday, ignoring the din of protests across the country and hashtags of #EndSARS and #EndSWAT in cyber space.

Adamu made the announcement in a statement by deputy commissioner of police, Frank Mba Sunday.

Adamu said the new Police Tactical Team will operate within very high professional and ethical standards, rule of law and dictates of best international policing practices.

Twenty people have died in recent days in Costa Rica after drinking alcohol spiked with methanol, the health ministry said Saturday.

Health authorities have been on alert since early October, when the first deaths related to the tainted alcohol were reported in the La Carpio area of western San Jose.

The Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola has said that political thugs planned the attack on him during the End SARS protest on Saturday in Osogbo.
