Pulev Confirms Joshua Bout Set For December 12 In London

Kubrat Pulev confirmed on Monday that he will face the world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in a title bout on December 12.

Britain’s Joshua was originally scheduled to fight Pulev on June 20, with a second date in July also mooted amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Facebook Bans Holocaust Denial Topics And Results

Facebook is banning Holocaust denial on its platform, with the social media giant saying it is concerned by rising anti-Semitism, in the latest move restricting controversial content.

“If people search for the Holocaust on Facebook, we’ll start directing you to authoritative sources to get accurate information,’’ Facebook Chief, Mark Zuckerberg, said on Monday.

Zuckerburg said he has “struggled with the tension’’ between protecting free speech and limiting hateful content.

“Drawing the right lines between what is and isn’t acceptable speech isn’t straightforward, but with the current state of the world, I believe this is the right balance,’’ Zuckerburg said.

The Speaker of the Edo House of Assembly, Hon. Francis Okiye has been Impeached.

Okiye’s impeachment followed a motion by the Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Henry Okhurobo.

The impeachment letter was signed by nine of the 10-members who were present at the brief sitting on Monday.

The House has elected Hon. Marcus Onobhu as the new speaker.

South African President Says Farm Attacks ‘Not Genocidal’

South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa called for calm on Monday, rejecting claims by pressure groups representing the country’s white minority that a spike in deadly attacks on farms was “ethnic cleansing”.

His appeal came after a group of mainly white farmers stormed a courthouse on Wednesday during the hearing of two black suspects accused of killing a 22-year-old farm manager.

The lead instigator of the rioters, Andre Pienaar, 52, was subsequently jailed and charged with terrorism on Friday.

Ramaphosa, in his weekly newsletter to the nation, strongly refuted claims that farm attacks were racially motivated.
