Nigeria At 60: Don’t Lose Hope – Goodluck Jonathan

Former President Goodluck Jonathan, has urged Nigerians not to lose hope as the country marks its 60th independence anniversary.

Jonathan said rather than lose hope, Nigerians should be purposeful in playing their own roles towards making the country great.

He stated this in his message to Nigerians as the country marks its 60th independence anniversary, on Thursday.

Jonathan said the journey of Nigeria had been that of mixed fortunes.

According to the former president, Nigeria will only be prosperous when citizens show commitment.

Cleric Predicts VP Osinbajo’s Removal Before 2023

The General Overseer of Our Sanctuary Gospel Church of Nigeria, Bishop Udo Azogu has predicted the likely removal of the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, before the 2023 general elections.

The cleric posted his prediction on Facebook, on Tuesday.

He said that in the event that Osinbajo survives the ouster from office, his office would be rendered redundant.

Bishop Azogu wrote; ‘Osinbajo may lose his job as VP or his office is rendered completely redundant before 2023.’

Nigeria Deserves More At 60 – Gov Fintiri

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of commemorating the nation’s independence.

The governor extended his congratulations amidts reservation, expressing the view that his state and Nigeria as a whole deserve more at 60.

‘It is with great pleasure that I extend congratulations to Nigerians on the occasion of the nation’s 60th anniversary celebrations,’ the governor said Thursday morning via a statement released by his Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou.

Governor Fintiri stressed that after 60 years of nationhood and two decades of democratic process, the political class must advance democracy, peace and prosperity.

President Muhammadu Buhari has announced a new price for the pump price of petrol in the country.

Buhari said fuel will now be sold at ₦161 per litre in Nigeria, noting that other nations such as Ghana, Niger, Chad Saudi Arabia and other oil-producing countries sell petrol on a higher price than Nigeria.

He lambasted the previous governments from 1999 to 2015 for criticising his administration when they allegedly presided over the near-destruction of the country.
