Senator representing Plateau North Senatorial district, Istifanus Gyang, has revealed that Fulani herdsmen were involved in serial killing of monarchs in Plateau State.

He stated this through order 43 of Senate rules in the event of the assassination of the Acting District head of Foron, Gwom Rwey Foron, Da Bulus Chuwang Janka by suspected Fulani herdsmen.

According to him, the latest assassination of the traditional ruler in Plateau North Senatorial district made it ten of those that have been murdered, lamenting that peace was gradually eluding his constituents.…

NERC Suspends Electricity Tariff Hike

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has ordered the 11 Electricity Distribution Companies (DISCOs) to suspend the Sept. 1 tariff increase for 14 days.

The suspension is in line with the agreement reached with the organised Labour on the suspension of strike over the hike in electricity tariff and increase in pump price of petrol.

The commission’s suspension order of the Multi-Year Tariff Order (MYTO) 2020 signed by Prof James Momoh, NERC’s Chairman was released on its website on Wednesday.

A Nigerian medical doctor and Chief Executive Officer of Mobihealth International, Funmi Adewara, has been selected as one of the seven winners of the 2020 World Bank’s Global SDGs and Her Competition.

The federal government on Tuesday announced that it has developed initiatives for the adoption of Artificial Intelligence technology in Nigeria.

The establishment of a Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in Nigeria (CFAIR) is also expected soon.

On Tuesday, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) said that AI applications enable innovative solutions, improve risk assessment, better planning, and faster knowledge-sharing.
