Lagos Deaf Community Takes Protest To Sanwo-Olu’s Office

The Deaf Coalition Against Corruption on Thursday staged a peaceful protest to Lagos State Governor’s Office and House of Assembly over alleged corruption in the Lagos State Association of the Deaf (LSAD).

The protesters, led by the group’s Coordinator, Mr. Kehinde Akewusola, urged Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Speaker, Lagos Assembly, Mr Mudashiru Obasa, to investigate the alleged financial mismanagement by the executive of LSAD.

The aggrieved deaf, wearing customised T-shirts with inscriptions such as “Deaf Hate Injustice and Exploitation”, “Deaf Stand Against Corruption”, also hoisted placards with various inscriptions to express their grievances.

NAFDAC Seizes ₦350K Worth Of Fake Hand Sanitisers In Bauchi

The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Bauchi State Office, says it has seized cartons of fake hand sanitizers worth ₦350,000 in some supermarkets and drug retail outlets in the state.

The NAFDAC State Coordinator, Mr Mohammed Muazu, disclosed this to newsmen in Bauchi on Thursday saying the items were confiscated after a raid was carried out on shops, NAN reports.

Muazu said out of 13 brands of the fake sanitizers, 11 were manufactured in Kano State while two were produced in Bauchi state

Iwo kingmakers have petitioned Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola to remove their monarch, Abdulrasheed Adewale, the Oluwo of Iwoland over his alleged criminal past.

They alleged that Abdulrasheed was convicted in the United States of America in 1998 and Canada between 2006 to 2007.

The Federal Government has approved the purchase of 1,800 units of laptop computers for computer-based test examinations at three Nigeria Customs Service training schools in Gwagwalada, Lagos, and Kano, at the cost of ₦351million.

Nigeria’s manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) has contracted for the fifth consecutive time, falling to 46.9 index points.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) PMI survey report for September conducted by the Statistics Department revealed this.

Manufacturing PMI for August stood at 48.5 index points.

The monthly PMI report on businesses is based on survey responses indicating changes in business activities compared to previous months.
