Bauchi, FG To Construct 4,000 Housing Units For Low Income Earners

The Federal Government in partnership with the Bauchi State government is set to commence construction of new multi-billion naira 4,000 housing units in the state for low-income earners.

This was revealed on Saturday by the Managing Director, Family Homes Fund, Mr Femi Adewole, at a partnership meeting among
the state government, Family Homes Fund and organized Labour held at the Government House in Bauchi.

According to Adewole, the new housing project is being constructed under the Federal Government’s Social Housing Programme as part of its plans to provide people of low income with affordable accommodations.

The Ogun chapter of the Child Protection Network (CPN) has appealed to the State Police Command to investigate the alleged rape and murder of a 14 -year- old secondary school student by some unknown persons.

It was gathered that the girl, Fathia Ojewoye, was declared missing by her parents on Wednesday, September 15, 2020 at Agbeloba-Oniyonrin area of Abeokuta.

But her corpse was found three days later, with some of her personal effects at the scene of the crime.

Governor Godwin Obaseki has floored his main opponent, Pastor Osagie Ize- Iyamu of All Progressives Congress, APC in his Oredo Local Government Area as an announcement of results of Edo governorship election held on Saturday continues at the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC’s office in Benin.

In the result announced early Sunday morning, Obaseki, who contested on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, scored 43, 498 votes while the APC got 43, 498 votes.

Homeless Woman Gives Birth To Baby Under Ajah Bridge

A homeless woman, Ms Blessing Emmanuel, 35 has given birth to a baby under the Ajah Bridge.

She was helped to deliver the baby by officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, on Saturday.

Director General, LASEMA, Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu said the Ambulance team of the agency’s response unit at Eti-osa delivered Ms Blessing Emmanuel, a 35 year-old woman of a live male neonate this afternoon at about 4:30pm under the Ajah Bridge.
