Luxury Buses Banned In Kano State As Traders Lament

Some traders in Kano, especially those who travel to the southern part of the country for their business, have lamented the restraining order placed on the operations of luxurious buses in the state.

The Kano Road and Traffic Agency, popularly known as KAROTA, had earlier directed the luxurious owners to relocate from the Sabon Gari Park to Unguwa Uku Motor Park, but the Luxurious Bus Association refused to comply with the directive.

This prompted the agency to go to court with a prayers seeking to ban luxurious buses operation in the state.

25 VIOs, FRSC Officials Arrested In Lagos Over Fraud

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has arrested 25 Lagos Vehicles Inspection Officers and Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, officers over drivers’ license fraud in the State.

The ICPC made the arrest in collaboration with the  Department of State Services (DSS) and FRSC.

Also arrested were some officers of the Motor Vehicle Licensing Authority (MVLA) and other persons in connection with drivers’ license and vehicle particulars fraud in Lagos State.

CBN Orders BDC Operators To Sell Dollar At ₦386

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has resumed sales of foreign exchange to Bureau De Change (BDC) operators.

The apex bank pegged sale to Nigerians at ₦386.

Ozoemena Nnaji, Director Trade and Exchange Department, made this known in a circular on Thursday.

Nnaji gave the applicable exchange rate for disbursements of proceeds of International Money Transfer Operators (IMTOs) for August 31 to September 4.

IMTSOs to banks – N382/$1; Banks to CBN – N383/$1; CBN to BDCs – N384/$1; BDCs to end-users – Not more than N386; Volume of sale to each market – $10,000 per BDC.

Omozuwa: Police Parade Suspected Killers Of UNIBEN Student

Three months after the brutal rape and murder of Vera Omozuwa, a 100-level student of the University of Benin, the Edo State Police Command on Wednesday paraded six suspects in connection with the crime.

PREMIUM TIMES reported how the victim, Vera Omozuwa, a 100-level Microbiology student of UNIBEN, was beaten inside a hall in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Ikpoba Hill, Benin City on May 13, where she went to study.

She died on May 31, 18 days after, at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital.

She was 23 years old.
