Nothing Wrong With Ceding Nigeria’s Sovereignty To China – Amaechi

The Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, has said there was nothing wrong with Nigeria ceding her sovereignty to China.

The Minister was fielding questions on the controversies surrounding the $500 million loan from China on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

Amaechi insisted that Chinese loans are the cheapest form of loans the country can get anywhere.

“What is wrong with Nigeria ceding its sovereignty to China?” Amaechi asked Tuesday evening.

Lebanon’s Interior Minister, Mohammed Fahmi, says the Tuesday explosion in Beirut was caused by ammonium nitrate.

He said the chemical was stored in a warehouse at the port.

More than 50 people were feared dead, with nearly 3,000 injured.

Prime Minister, Hassan Diab, disclosed that the warehouse had been the subject of warnings since 2014.

Diab assured that he would “reveal facts” about the facility soon.

The United States Government has sounded the alarm over mysterious parcels dispatched to its nationals from China.

US Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that hundreds of Americans received the seed packs in their mail.

Authorities have warned recipients not to plant them.

There are fears that some may be invasive species and could destroy native plants and insects.

A USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service member, Osama El-Lissy, said officials found 14 plant types included in the seed packets.

Beirut, Lebanon – Hundreds of people have been wounded in a powerful blast that ripped through Lebanon’s capital, Beirut, according to the country’s health minister.

The massive explosion on Tuesday at Beirut’s port caused widespread damage to buildings, shattering windows in different parts of the city. It sent shockwaves across the capital.
