Notorious Serial Killer Sunday Shodipe’s Escape Story

Sunday Shodipe, the man suspected to be behind series of killings and rape of women in Akinyele area of Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, has told the police how he escaped from their custody after he was first arrested.

Shodipe was rearrested on Sunday after he escaped from the Mokola Police Station where he was detained after his arrest seven days ago.

The suspect told the Police that he escaped after a new Divisional Police Officer, deployed to the station allowed an officer he identified as Funsho to allow him to take his bath.

Chief Timipre Sylva, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, said President Muhammadu Buhari had approved the establishment of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), oil and gas logistic Centre in Akwa Ibom.

Sylva gave the hints at a Gala night organised by the Akwa Ibom Government in honour of a delegation of Stakeholders in the oil and gas industry retreat in Uyo on Saturday.

The Centre for Anti-Corruption and Open Leadership (CACOL) has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his decision on the University of Lagos (UNILAG).

On Friday, Buhari ordered the Governing Council Chairman, Wale Babalakin and the Vice Chancellor, Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, to vacate their positions.

CACOL Director of Administration, Tola Oresanwo, in a statement on Sunday, said this would calm frayed nerves at the institution.

Failed Coup: Turkey Detains 47 Soldiers

Turkish prosecutors on Saturday ordered the detention of 47 military personnel over their suspected links to a network believed to be behind a coup attempt in 2016.

Police launched simultaneous operations in 40 provinces across the country to catch the suspects upon the order of the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office in the western province of Izmir, the NTV broadcaster reported.
