The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, has urged the troops of Operation Lafiya Dole to deploy more intelligence in prosecuting the ongoing counter insurgency in the North East.

Buratai stated this while addressing troops deployed at Army Super Camp 3 Buratai, in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State on Monday.

He said that the task of dealing with the remnants of terrorists hiding in some areas must be intelligence-driven, adding that the intelligence corps of the army had achieved so much in recent times.

Three sons of the 29 year-old Blake witnessed the shooting in Kenosha on Sunday.

After being rushed to a hospital, Blake was out of surgery and in stable condition, his father told news media on Monday.

An Italian hospital said on Monday it had inoculated a first volunteer with an anti-COVID-19 vaccine as part of human trials expected to last six months.

The woman, in her 50s, received the first dose developed by Rome-based biotech company ReiThera at the capital’s Spallanzani Institute for infectious diseases.

The trials, developed between ReiThera and Spallanzani researchers, will be carried out on 90 volunteers divided into groups by age to test the efficacy of different dosages of the vaccine, developed since March.

Four passengers and three crew were killed Saturday when a cargo plane belonging to a local operator crashed near South Sudan’s capital Juba, the transport minister said.

DPR warned that the usage of mobile phones while refuelling at filling stations could spark off a fire outbreak.

The Osun State’s DPR Operation Manager, Olusegun Daboh gave the warning in Osogbo, the state capital.
