Elder statesman, Chief Ayo Adebanjo on Tuesday attacked the presidency for saying that the Inspector General of Police would determine the structure of Southwest regional security outfit, Amotekun.

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu had said during a programme on Channels TV that the IGP would determine the structure of Amotekun.

U.S. President Donald Trump has pardoned a convicted bank robber, Jon Ponder, who is now running a post-prison assistance programme.

A pre-recorded video of Trump signing an executive order for the pardon, with Ponder standing beside him, aired on Tuesday night.

Coming amid the Republican National Convention, the president’s move is seen by some as an attempt to draw attention to criminal justice.

NDLEA, Customs Intercept 11.8 Million Tramadol Tablets

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has seized 11,785,800 tramadol tablets in Lagos. They were packed in a total of 607 cartons.

Head of Public Affairs, Jonah Achema, made the announcement in a statement on Wednesday.

It quoted the Chairman, Muhammad Abdallah, as saying the interception was with the assistance and cooperation of the Customs Area Command, Apapa.

“This was discovered in another container number TCNU 9465832 belonging to the same suspect transferred to NDLEA by the Police.

“This is making it 3 containers used to carefully conceal illegally imported tramadol and other medicines to Nigeria,” he said.

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has apologized for his comments against a Daily Trust newspaper reporter, Eyo Charles At a press conference in Calabar, Cross River State, last Thursday, the former presidential aide lost his cool after a question by Charles.

Charles had asked Fani-Kayode who was funding his tour of States.

This vexed the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain; he called the question an assertion.

Footage of his outburst went viral, with many Nigerians and groups condemning his reaction.
