Mississippi Selects Its Final Five Designs For New State Flag

Mississippi is getting closer to picking a state flag that residents can vote on in November.

The commission tasked with designing a new state flag selected five final options on Tuesday for the public to weigh in on after the state decided earlier this year to remove the Confederate emblem from their flag.

Mali’s President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita and Prime Minister Boubou Cisse were detained by mutinying soldiers on Tuesday night, worsening a national crisis in a country already grappling with a jihadist insurgency and mass protests.

Social media celebrity, Ismaila Mustapha aka Mompha, has slammed the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with a ₦5million lawsuit over his recent arrest.

Mompha, who is currently facing money laundering charges before the Federal High Court, was rearrested on Friday, August 14.

A UN rights expert called Tuesday for governments to ban evictions until the COVID-19 pandemic ends, warning the number of people being expelled from their homes was rising globally.

Warning of an impending “tsunami” of evictions, Balakrishnan Rajagopal, the United Nations’ top expert on the right to housing, stressed that “losing your home during this pandemic could mean losing your life”.
