You Will Have To Manufacture Your Country – Onochie To Oyedepo

Lauretta Onochie, media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the warning by the founder and General Overseer of the Living Faith Church, also known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, against the application of the Company and Allied Matters Acts (CAMA) in churches.

Oyedepo on Sunday warned that the church is directly connected to God and therefore does not operate under the rules of men.

Japanese Economy Shrinks By 27.8 Percent

The Japanese economy contracted at an annualised rate of 27.8 per cent in the second quarter, as the world’s third-largest economy was devastated by the novel coronavirus pandemic, a government report showed on Monday.

The third straight quarterly contraction marked the biggest fall since 1980, when comparable data became available.

The reading was almost in line with the 26.6 per cent contraction forecast by the Japan Centre for Economic Research.

The centre expected the economy to bounce back in the July-to-September period with annualised growth of 13.6 per cent.

The latest poll by NBC news and Wall Street Journal released on Sunday shows US Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden leading President Donald Trump by 9 points.

The poll result came on the eve of the start of the Democratic national convention where Biden is expected to be formally nominated presidential candidate.

Fifty-one per cent of polled voters said that they would vote for Biden over Trump, while only 41 per cent said that they would vote for Trump.

Biden had an 11-point lead in the same poll conducted the month before.
